The Rooftop Oath Event.

The Conservators of the Greatest Generation (COGG) will host a dedication event titled “The Rooftop Oath” on 21 February 2026 atop the historic Ayers Building at 118 Broadway in San Antonio, Texas.

During WWII, the Ayers Building served as the USMC Induction Center for the area. One of the young men inducted there was Harland Block, who was one of the Marines in the famous Iwo Jima flag-raising photo.

Veterans groups from all over Texas (and hopefully the U.S.) and families of WWII veterans will be in attendance to celebrate the preservation of this historic location.
